Dr. Michael Poppelreiter, a geologist with Shell in the Netherlands and a Professor at the University of Tubingen in Germany recently presented a paper at the Abovyan Armenian Cultural Center in the Hague titled, "Geology of Armenia: How the Armenian Mountains Were Formed." Dr. Poppelreiter spoke to CivilNet about how geological formations impact human development. He also explained why Armenia is prone to earthquakes, why the Stone Age and the Bronze Age started earlier in Armenia than in other regions of the world and about the country's rich and diverse natural resources.
